Legroom up front measures 41.5 inches, and the reclining 60/40 second row offers 38.5. Shoulder room is 57.1 inches in front and 55.9 in back. Without a moonroof, headroom is 41.1 inches for the front seats and 39.2 for the rear; the moonroof-equipped Dark Armor and Platinum list 39.2 and 37.8. Measured without moonroof, passenger volume is 105.4 cubic feet.

The four grades below the Platinum hold 31.6 cubic feet behind the rear seats, and the Platinum's Divide-N-Hide Cargo System, set in its low position, lifts that figure to 36.5. Four tie-down hooks and a nook shaped for milk jugs keep a Publix run from sliding around. Every grade from Dark Armor up heats the front seats as standard, and SV buyers can add seat and steering-wheel heat through the Cold Weather Package.

Below the Platinum, the dash centers on an 8-inch NissanConnect touchscreen that links to phones by cable for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 7-inch Advanced Drive-Assist Display sits in the gauge cluster. The S plays through four speakers, and the SV, Rock Creek, and Dark Armor step up to six. Two USB-C ports and a 12-volt outlet are up front on every Rogue, the SV and higher grades add two charge-only USB-C ports in back, and Rock Creek puts a second 12-volt outlet in the cargo area.

Platinum rebuilds the cockpit around Google built-in on an HD touchscreen that measures 12.3 inches, with a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster beside it. Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, and SiriusXM 360L come along, played through 10 Bose Premium Audio speakers. Wireless phone charging is standard on this grade, and on the Rock Creek it is part of that grade's Premium Package. The Platinum Premium Package brings tri-zone climate control and a head-up display.

Charcoal is the common thread. The S covers its seats in Charcoal cloth, the SV in Charcoal premium cloth, and Rock Creek in its own Charcoal leatherette with Rock Creek badges and contrast stitching. Nissan says the water-repellent centers of those Rock Creek seats take their inspiration from ballistic nylon, a welcome detail after a summer scalloping day on the Homosassa flats.

Two grades widen the palette. Nissan's interior gallery shows Dark Armor's Prima-Tex leatherette in Light Gray as well as Charcoal, and the Platinum's semi-aniline leather-appointed seats, perforated and quilted, come in Chestnut or Charcoal. Platinum also has ambient lighting whose color you can choose, so the cabin can take on a different mood for the ride home after a Crystal River sunset.
